Why Sponsor a Student?
Build a long-term relationship with a student who needs your help.Sponsorship is the way that individuals from around the world can change the lives of Honduran children.
The Sponsor a Student Scholarship Program matches individuals who believe in our cause with students who need financial aid to continue their studies. Students eligible for sponsorship have already been accepted into Blanca Jeannette Kawas Bilingual School and may already be attending. The school considers financial need, academic performance, and family situations in determining eligibility. We award as many scholarships as we can, and we work hard to match students with new sponsors.
We currently have 30 students with sponsors, but the remainder of our students are still actively seeking sponsorship. When sponsors support one child’s future by contributing school fees, we can focus our resources elsewhere to make additional improvements.
Sponsorship Levels
Sponsors may pay the entire amount of their pledge at the beginning of the school year, or they may make payments towards the pledge throughout the year (August to June).
As part of the program, we will keep you updated on your student's progress by sending grade reports and thank-you notes from the student. We encourage you to sponsor a student for one year, although many sponsors stay with the same student year after year, following the student's growth and progress throughout their education.
